Ethical principles:

These are part of a normative theory that justify and define the rules of moral judgements. These

principles are not dependent on subjective viewpoints. These do not provide with the guidance to

ensure a decision is correct ethically nor it can offer guidance about ranking the principles appear

to be in conflict with each other (Eva, et al., 2020). The key principles includes autonomy, non-

maleficence, distributive justice etc.

Professional Values:

Professional values are about guidance regarding different beliefs and principles that have a

direct impact on the work behaviour. The generic term for the principles that are central to

practice the profession which assure compassion, altruism, excellence, integrity and continuous

improvement. The key example of these professional values includes being honest with the

workplace, having strong team work ethics, giving proper respect to each other, having constant

communication and strong presentation skills.

Way people approach their work:

Ethics in workplaces allow improving the quality of the service offered to them and foster

positive relationships. For example the organizations share a code of conduct with the staff

members and they guide them to perform in a specific ways, it provides a guideline to ensure to

behave properly with the people around them.

Piece of legislation:

The piece of legislation is the foundation of regulations, it is one of the specific set of rules or

some legal norm such as regulation, act, directive and other things. It is one of the most essential

instruments of government in effectively organizing society and protecting people living in that

region. It determines others the rights and responsibilities of authorities and individuals to whom

it applies.

Code of practice:

Code of practice is a guideline which is set out by the professional association for providing a

roadmap to members towards acquiescence with suitable ethical standards. The codes are quite

important to ensure safety and standards information on specific work tasks. It also provides with

detailed information on different tasks to help in achieving the standards required under the laws.

Ethical and professional practice

WHO provides with Code of Ethics and professional conduct that provides with guideline to

ensure accountability framework, code of conduct for responsible research, staff regulations,

respectful workplace and social media policy. It provides with Fostering Ethical Behaviour and

ensure staff member’s respects equality, privacy, worth, diversity and dignity. CIPD also

provides with Ethics at Work as an employer’s guide to perform responsibly at workplace

(CIPD, 2019).

Ethical behaviour
It is characterized by fairness, honesty and equity in terms of professional and interpersonal

relationship in research and scholarly articles. It is based on written and unwritten codes that

hold value in the society. The ethics effectively reflect the beliefs about things that are right or
wrong in terms of human behaviour. In business setting, the behaviour that means applies the

principles of fairness and honesty in the relationship with customers and co-workers.

Unethical behaviour:
This is the behaviour that breaches the code of conduct provided by the company or the general

notion of behaviour that is considered morally correct. Unethical workplace behaviour is

considered any action at work that goes against the moral norms of the workplace or community.

The unethical behaviour at work could take different forms and they could have different targets.

A company that ensure employees act ethically can have a positive impact on the improved

business outcomes. The ethical behaviour could increase the performance of staff members,

ensure satisfaction of job and organized commitment that can change the organizational

Consequence of unethical behaviour

Employees not behaving properly can have adverse impact on the workplace and the people

working in it. An individual that is ethically wrong can lose their job, reputation, they can also

lose their credibility and overall productivity could reduce. This can also result in major fines

and financial loss.

Organizations that treat the workforce with integrity, fairness, and sensitivity are likely to find
that the workforces respond with an increased commitment to the productivity of the company.
Sensitivity - The workforce has to reward resources not shared as per the policies, procedures,
and inconsistent.
Showing sensitivity to people includes interest and concern for others when they are having
trouble with the situation. Apologizing makes it easier for the involved people to make the
situation better; I would like to share a personal situation to a better explanation of showing
sensitivity to others at work in ADNOC. I am usually sensitive with the people who are
connected with me; at the workplace, I share a relationship of respect with people, and one of my
co-workers was not having a good day as she was worried about her mother’s health. I offered
her to cover her shift as well; she was so thankful to me for considering her situation and helping
out.
Showing Respect to the colleagues – This is the basic need of a workplace, no matter what kind
of workplace is it or what is the size of the firm. Not only the people should be respected based
on hierarchy, but this is the duty of management as well to respect the values and norms of
people. I have experienced this at ADNOC as well, I had an opportunity to work in a company
that has the best workplace environment, and the management set high standards of ethical
values and norms. There was a time when recruits were not that responsible and respectable, but
rather than taking intense actions, the management decided to train the staff members and to
teach them the basic ethics of the workplace.
The HR professionals in ADNOC have to demonstrate the overall environment of the workplace
and ensure the ethical approaches are involved in almost every activity at the workplace. The
management decisions made by staff members often involve the trade-offs between the needs
and priorities of the workplace.
Being aware of the understanding outcomes of alternative courses of action enables the managers
to make appropriate judgments.
clarifying problems or issues
one has to keep a thing in mind that people matters; their needs and self-respect have to be
valued. Thus when communicating about the issues or problems, one has to maintain respect and
keep the tone mild, should give another person an opportunity to explain their stance and share
concerns (Alan et al., 2019).
When contributing views and opinions
one has to make sure they are not present any idea that could hurt the norms or cultural values of
other people. Everyone should respect the opinion of other people and share their concerns with
others in the best way possible. They should understand the perspective of others and let them
share their concerns (Rachel, 2019).
Working in a team
requires proper ethics, the people who are a part of the team should have virtues in
communication, and along with having the skills of clear and precise communication, they
should have the skill of listening people. It is the ethical need to involve everyone in the
decision-making process equally. While working in a team, one should respect the time and work
ethics of another person. The decisions should be made with mutual consent, and the division of
tasks should be equal so that it does not lead to any conflict during the project (Diane, 2018).
