To Whom it May Concern:
Iam writing to express my wholehearted support for Ashley Maynard’s application to the
position of School Psychologist. As Ashley’s supervisor during her practicum with York Central
School for the 2020-2021 school year, I was very impressed with Ashley’s advanced level of
skill in many areas. Ashley showed great initiative, independence, interpersonal skills and easily
became a valued member of the mental health team. I am confident that Ashley has a very
successful career ahead of her.
‘Asa practicum student, Ashley took on a number of responsibilities and actively sought new
experiences. With the support of the Middle/High School principal, Ashley organized and
planned a wellness month that included use of social media as well as a month-long calendar that
included wellness activities each day and prizes. She also significantly contributed to the High
School’s “December to Remember” event by helping to organize activities and created an
amazing movie trailer to support the YCS Masked Teacher contest. It is clear that Ashley has a
passion for her work but also her growth as a school psychologist. Beyond her organizing and
planning skills, Ashley made an impact with her thoughtful and genuine personality. Ashley
easily got along with both staff and students alike. From the first day, Ashley was at ease with
being present in a classroom and interacting with students. She has consistently shown great
skill with connecting with students and building relationships.
It is not surprising that Ashley continued to be successful during her internship at Pittsford
Central School District. Her well rounded role of completing assessments, counseling services,
and consulting with multiple teams and administrators demonstrates both her independence and
knowledge of both systems and practice as a school psychologist.
In closing, I’d like to reiterate my strong support for Ashley’s application for the position of
School Psychologist. Ashley is an extremely strong candidate who will make an impact
wherever she is. Please don’t hesitate to contact me for any further information. Thank you for
your time.
Sincerely,
Erica Miller, Psy.D
