I. CONTEXT /RATIONALE

The Project PASA focuses the student those who cannot pass the performance task

and that could affect their academic grades in MAPEH subject. The parent

involvement is when parents participate in returning the modules in this pandemic

crisis and teachers provide learning resources or information about their student’s

performances. Parent involvement is one factor that has been consistently related to a

child's increased academic performance (Hara & Burke, 1998; Hill & Craft, 2003;

Marcon, 1999; Stevenson & Baker, 1987). While this relation between parent

involvement and a child's academic performance is well established, studies have yet

to examine how parent involvement increases a child's academic performance.

The goal of this action research is to let the student pass or comply their performance

output. Cluster analysis results from a sample of 130 parents or guardians whose

children attended in Grade 10 secondary in Tayawan National High School.

II. ACTION RESEARCH QUESTIONS

The purpose of this study is to pass or comply performance output in the associations

between parental involvement in school and children’s academic

achievement. Specifically, the study seeks to answer the following questions:

1. What is the profile of pupils in terms of:

1.1. sex;

1.2. age;

1.3. parent’s educational attainment;

1.4. Parent’s monthly income

1.5. Religion

2. What is the academic performance of the pupils?

3. What are the reason that the student cannot submit

performance output in MAPEH?

III. PROPOSED INNOVATION, INTERVENTION AND STRATEGY

This study is limited to the effectiveness of school-

based feeding program in coping the malnourished pupils

that affects their academic performance of Manduaw

Elementary School,Mandu-ao,Bayawan City Negros

Oriental.This study will be conducted from the month of

July 2017 upon the first weighing and will be ended on

March 2018 .All respondents are the undernourished

children of Manduaw Elementary School.

The instruments that will be used in this study are

the survey form,free noon meal,nutritional status,report

cards(1st and 3rd Quarter,and pupils family

background/status. The questions and information will be

focused only on the independent and dependent variables

of the study.
IV. ACTION RESEARCH METHODS

This is a descriptive research that utilized survey

questionnaire. Descriptive Research, according to Travers

(2000) is used to describe the nature of a situation as

it exists at the time of the study and explore the causes

of particular phenomena.

The respondents of the study are the pupils and

teachers in Manduaw Elementary School, Bayawan City

Division of Negros Oriental.

This study is described the nature of the situations

that exist in public school in Manduaw Elementary School,

Bayawan City Division, Negros Oriental as to the

effectiveness of school feeding program in coping

This study will be utilized a standardized

questionnaire to assess the effectiveness of schools’

feeding program in coping malnutrition on Pupils’ Academic

Performance Part I is the socio-demographic profile consists

of information of the pupils. Part II is the assessment of

school feeding Program.

The following tools will be used in analyzing and

interpreting data:

Percentage.This is used to show a part related is

related to a whole.It is used in presenting the profile of

the respondents.

Formula: part
Percentage  100

Mean This is used in getting the pupil’s academic performance

Formula:

Where:

x= mean / average

X = scores and rating

n = number of pupils

Weighted Mean This is used in getting the impact of family structure to pupils academic

performance

wx 

Formula:

Where:

X = weight

n = total number of pupils in a certain category of family structure

f = frequency/ number of pupils in a certain family structure who

responded in a particular category

= fx sum of all the products of frequency and weigh

Spearman Rank-Order Correlation Coefficient This is used to determine the

significant relationship between the pupils nutritional status and their academic

performance

Where rs = Spearman rho

∑ d 2 = Sum of the squared difference between ranks
