Facts and Key terms:

- From simple facts like
- Sales units (no of units sold of a particular product
- Sale value
- To complex facts like % ACV Distribution
- ACV – All Commodity Volume (It is total sales revenue generated by the retailer for an entire
store across all products and categories.

% ACV Distribution – Can be calculated for a particular brand or item.

- A brand or item scanned in no of stores in a particular market. Based on the total ACV
number of that entire market by individual store and week. For ex 100000 is the ACV of
market A with 25000 stores and the Nielsen gets retailer data that the product X gets sold in
just 10000 whose ACV is 25000 then we calculate % ACV distribution as 25000/100000 =
25%. If it is a new product then this is a poor distribution
- Another case product Y gets scaned in 8000 stores whose ACV is 45000 then 45%. This is
comparatively good distribution for a new product compared to X.

Assortment and Space Optimization

Need for a solution to identify the inextricable link between product and assortment and the
physical space in which it resides, creating the closed-loop capability to deliver the right assortment
un the right space in the given store in order to optimise category performance within physical and
supply chain constraints,

- To determine whether additional items generate incremental volume to the segment and
the category.
- To help client determine the optimal locations on the shelf and within your store from items
in each segment and category.
