OUR OPINION ON MENTAL HEALTH IN THE PANDEMIC

The COVID-19 infection has had a great impact on our lives. Many of us face challenges
that are stressful, overwhelming, and can cause strong emotions in adults and children.
Public health measures like social distancing are needed to reduce the spread of COVID-19,
but we can feel isolated and that increases stress and anxiety. We must learn to cope with
stress in a healthy way because it will allow us to develop a better capacity for recovery
from those with whom we come in contact.
Society was affected above all by fear, concern and everything related to the pandemic,
since these are times when we face uncertainty or the unknown, as well as crisis changes
due to covid-19. While it is true that mental health has very little importance for many
people, but during the pandemic mental problems were reflected in many people, since they
did not know what was going to happen or when.
Some cases received psychological help and other psychopharmacological drugs, but no
importance is given to mental health, recently 70 people committed suicide in recent
months, prevention programs should be implemented to identify possible cases and help
them in a timely manner.
The crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic affects social activity, interactions and
behaviors on multiple levels. Taking care of ourselves prepares us to be able to take care of
others, it is important to stay connected with friends and family through phone calls or
video calls, this can help us feel less alone and isolated.
