BAC Resolution Recommending Approval of ‘Award for Variation Works WHEREAS, BAC Resolution No. 15 the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHilech) ‘awarded the contract to Renmant Builders for the SUPPLY OF LABOR AND MATERIALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING OF AGRICULTURAL TRAMLINE, LOT I & Il in the total contract amount of P 13,272,110.24; ‘Whereas, in the course of contractimplementation in Caliangan, Dalaguete, Cebu, the following variation works were recommended and approved to wit: + Upgrading of dive sheave assembly ‘© Replacement of drive sheave, pillow block bearing, shalting, cross joints connections and drive sheave anchorage Whereas, however, said changes are necessary to further ensure the operational viabilly of said facilities; Whereas, par. 1.1 of Annex “E" of the IRR of RA 9184 provides that Variation orders maybe issued by the procuring entity to cover any increase/decrease in quantities, including the inclusion of new work items that are not included in the original contract; Whereas, also, par. 2.1 of Annex “E” of the IRR of RA 9184 provides that, for Variation Orders, the Contractor shall bbe paid for additional work items whose unit prices shall be derived based on ......(b) for additionalextra works duly covered by Extra Work Orders involving new work items that are not in the original contract, the unit prices of the new work items shall be based on the direct unit costs used in the original contract (e.g. unit cost of cement, rebars, form lumber, labor rate, equipment rental, etc.); WHEREAS, the extra work order is necessary to complete the project and to serve its purpose: WHEREAS, the exira Work Order is allowed under Annex “E” of the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA. 9184; WHEREAS, the above-mentioned Extra Work Order would entail additive cost of P 165,701.76; NOW, THEREFORE, We, the Members of the Bids and Awards Committee, hereby RESOLVE as it is hereby RESOLVED to recommend for approval by the Director IV of the PHilMoch the above-mentioned Extra Work Ordor to Remant Builders in the amount of P 165,701.76.
