Leste Development Partners’ Meeting. The

Visit by Mr. Hugo Maria Fernandes, Executive
Director of Centro Nacional Chega! I.P.
30 November 2021 – Ms. Nur Hidayah Mohd, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. received Mr. Hugo Maria
Fernandes, Executive Director of Centro Nacional Chega! I.P. and Mr. Gaudencio Soares Souza,
Director of External Relation, Communication and Advocacy at the Embassy of Malaysia in Dili, Timor-
Leste. During the meeting, both sides discussed the potential bilateral and multilateral cooperation in
the future. Centro Chega! is a Government institution established under the decree-law no. 48/2016
in which its mandate includes promoting and monitoring the implementation of the Commission for
Reception, Truth and Reconciliation of East Timor (CAVR) as well as guaranteeing preservation of
memory and history of Timor-Leste. Chega! also contributes to civic education, training, and
methodology of teaching Timor-Leste’s history within the time span of 1974-1999.

2 December 2021 – The Embassy of Malaysia joined other diplomatic missions resident in Timor-Leste to
participate in the 2021 Korean Kimchi Cooking Class hosted by H.E Mr. Kim Jeong-ho, Ambassador of the
Republic of Korea in Timor-Leste. The event was also attended by Madam Isabel da Costa Ferreira, spouse
of the Prime Minister of Timor-Leste.
