The flexible stalk allows the user to easily direct
the light source for map reading or for any
hands-on task. It’s also an ideal accessory for
helicopter pilots or anyone operating an aircraft
at night under VFR rules.
The light also features a non-programmable IFF
(Identification Friend or Foe) beacon that
operates at 50 beats per minute. The IFF beacon
is locked out requiring operation of the 3
position IFF lockout switch at the back of the
light.

The Sidewinder Stalk has a several features to
get excited about, but its mounting options is at
the top of my list.

The second feature I found exciting is the dual
fuel power option, I can’t begin to count how
many times I’ve found myself out of CR123A
batteries, so being able to drop in an alkaline AA
to power the light is a big plus.
