CHAPTER 4

ANALYSIS AND CONCLUSION

4.1 Analysis and Conclusion

Mr. Ullekh Niraula identifies a market gap, where the world is moving toward online businesses,
Online study and online courses, whereas Nepalese are still following traditional ways avoiding
technology. Nepalese aren’t familiar to the advanced technology of the world right now. The
technology today is very advanced and has reached to different places of world. Nepal is also
gradually adapting to it. Hence, he came up with a disruptive idea that is to deliver all the
necessity of public to their own hands via Digital Gurkha. His long-term vision on changing
Nepalese behavior of doing online business is really a disruptive idea in Nepalese market.
Before initiating any startup, the most important job of an entrepreneur is to do market
research. He did market research in various part of Nepal through his own research agency. The
main objective of the research was to identify whether online business and online course will
help people or not. He found there is a huge demand for the service. Here, he applied a lean
business model by identifying problems or requirements and developing service prototypes and
adopting shifts in demand. The theme of lean startup has been well used by the owners. In the
interview he frequently mentioned a Trial and Error approach, i.e. one does not need to
immediately rush into making a huge investment in the business right in the beginning. In every
phase of running a business one needs to upgrade and improvise step by step and
incrementally. Another trait of an entrepreneur we found in him is utilizing available resources
to fulfil target customers demands. He believes startups without a smart goal have a high
chance of failure. Therefore, an entrepreneur must set a smart goal that makes his chance of
success higher. Hence, he follows causal reasoning of an entrepreneurial thinking.
According to him, the core competitiveness of his startup is clear cut mindset, confidence and
strategies that always helps him to stand and grow in the market. Another thing he said, online
businesses have low barriers to entry so it makes the market more competitive. So, he suggests
if you are going to enter this market you should enter with a huge amount of investment to
compete with existing business.
He explains major reasons for startup failure in Nepal is lack of proper planning, market study
and finance backups. An entrepreneur must have smart planning and backed by trustful
investors; these things really matter in the Nepalese context.
We observe that he is not only knowledgeable of entrepreneurial theories and models but also
implementing them in real life. The way he communicates shows an extrovert nature, openness
to experience and reflective nature. His well-mannered nature determines his agreeableness
and his hard work along with determination reflect his conscientiousness. The story of starting
a startup with friends shows a good team leader in his traits. Before starting his startup, he left
out his currently working job and planned to take estimated risk in the digital marketing
business. He explains his journey of starting Digital Gurkha. He faces many ups and downs but
he stands with his strong mindset, patients and strategies, as a result he is now a successful
entrepreneur.

4.2 Recommendations

Currently, Digital Gurkha is receiving huge demand for service as covid-19 restricts people going
to physical forms of education or service. Before this there was average demand for the service.
Nepalese market still needs more changes in digital/internet work. For these online advertising
should focus on developing such behavior by making it easier to buy, building trust on online
transactions, and strong relation with suppliers and flexible logistic management. Digital
marketing should focus on marketing online as well to reach more customers and one of the
important things is to fulfil demand on time. Provide rewards in the form of points which they
can utilize to acquire more customers, provide free courses, and discount coupons to your loyal
customers. Social media gives great marketing opportunities for all types of online businesses.
You can use social media to build stronger relationships with existing customers. Make sure
your customers can easily access your social network channels.
