Love Thy Nature

By: Jona Rose D. Bation

Far from the city, away from the crowd,

Far from traffic, away from noise so loud,
This exciting journey to the countryside,
Made me smile and giggle the whole ride.

Near the mountainside stood a little hut,

A hut where my grandma is living at,
Fruits and veggies; cows and goats are everywhere,
Foods are abundant, everyone can share.

Birds are chirping clear and lovely,

The river’s waters hum so loudly,
Grasses and leaves of trees so green,
Provides us with oxygen and air so clean.

The good smell of flowers filled the air,

Cool and calming wind then brushed my hair,
I love this feeling, being hugged by peace,
I hope this emotion will never ever cease.

The sun then kissed my cheeks red,

Through my window and then my bed,
I like to see the sunshine and sunset,
This experience for sure I won't regret.

Oh nature, what more can I say?

Your beauty and love for us would stay;
I'll continue to cherish and protect you,
Through being your good friend and foe.

Thank you for the food you bring,

The birds and crickets that sing,
Thank you for the shelter and the shade,
My admiration for you will never ever fade.
