ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

International Conference on Inter-disciplinary Approaches towards Socio Economic Inclusiveness for Sustainable
Development (ICSISD-2022) will be organized virtually by University School of Business under the aegis of Guru Nanak
Chair for Studies in Universal Advancement with United Nations Academic Impact ( An Intiative of United Nations, USA),
Curtin University, Australia and University of North Alabama, USA on June 3-4, 2022. The conference is aligned to UNESCO
agenda of promoting socio-inclusiveness and sustainable development especially in the context of the developing countries. Also,
in the Indian context, social inclusion seems to be an important factor for the development of the nation and society. Therefore,
creating a sustainable growth model for the world is the primary objective of the conference.

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings are eternal and are more pertinent in today's scenario in the context of socio-economic inclusivity
and sustainable development. His core social guidance is to rise above personal and social prejudice and discrimination to attain
self-sufficiency, fairness, inclusivity, progress and social justice. In today’s world, growing emphasis on energy intensive
industrialization, untrammeled economic growth and shareholder’s profit maximization has resulted in mounting pollution,
deterioration of resources, climate change, and social inequality. In the face of a rapidly changing global economic landscape and
increasing inequalities, changing direction is critical for addressing the economic, social and environmental dimensions of
development in a systematic and holistic manner. This requires considerable emphasis on inclusive, sustainable and resilient
economic growth, and the effective integration of the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development.
This is perspicuously articulated in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a
universal call to achieve inclusive, people-centric and sustainable development with no one left behind. Guru Ji gave the path
breaking directive for an inclusive society and sustainable development 550 years ago. His principles “Sangat, pangat and
Langar” means get-together of noble and good people who sit and eat together in the same row and free food is served to all
people without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, religion, gender etc.; “Kirat Karo-Wand Chako” means to share
the fruits of one’s labor with others before considering oneself, thus living as an inspiration and a support to the entire community
and Pawan Guru Paani Pita Mata Dharat Mahat” means wind is the teacher, water is the father, and earth is the great mother
are more relevant today than ever before.

We wish all relevant policy makers, think-tank specialists, corporate leaders, academic researchers, and doctoral scholars to
participate and contribute in this conference. We expect to propose some important suggestions to the Govt. of India and United
Nations for implementation in the area of Socio-Economic Inclusiveness and Sustainable Development of the society as an
outcome of the conference.
