The total death tolls were 82 and 49 were injured. © Out of 12 flood affected States and Regions, Mon State was the most devastated with 73 deaths, 48 injured, and 42354 people from 9927 households were evacuated to 136 evacvation sites. Significantly, the massive landslide at the Ma Lat mountain in Paung township was the worst in the recent memory of Mon State as it caused 69 deaths and 47 injured. Tad ‘+ Since late June, Monsoon low pressure areas in Bay of Bengal triggered torrential rainfalls across the country. Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) issued the flood warming for the habitats located near the rivers of Ayeyarwaddy, Belin, Laymyo and Chindwin since July 10. + Due to heavy rainfall, widespread flooding and landslides occurred in 12 States and Regions since late June of 2019. Search and Rescue activities were immediately undertaken by Tatmadaw, Fire Services Department, local government bodies and €S0 in affected States and Regions including Ma Lat mountaion landslide area in Paung township. '® Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement (MSWRR) has provided relief items and humanitarian assistances, and Humanitarian partners, CSO and donors hhave done so. As of 16° August, the total amountoof assistance provided by MSWRR ‘was about 404.6 million Kyats, "= Moreover, Vice President Il, the chairperson of NDMC, Union Minister of MSWRR, the chairperson of National Disaster Management Working Committee (NDMWWC) with parties visited Mon State and Bago Region which were severely affected by widespread flooding and massive landslide.
