NATIONALS HISTORY
April 15 (7-6)
2006 – John Patterson earned his lone win of the season and matched a career high with 13 strikeouts in
a 2-1 victory at Florida. His 13 strikeouts stood as the most in Nationals history (2005-pres.) until Stephen
Strasburg struck out 14 in his Major League debut on June 8, 2010.
2011 – Washington edged Milwaukee, 4-3, in 10 innings after a Yuniesky Betancourt error led to an unearned
run. Jayson Werth scored the decisive run in the 10th inning by hustling (and forcing a poor throw), swiping
third base, darting home on Adam LaRoche’s grounder, and sliding to avoid Jonathon Lucroy’s tag. The
Nationals scored all four of their runs without the benefit of a run-scoring hit.
