Passages into College Writing Homework:

I really enjoyed reading this article because I think I could relate with some of the

things this article mentioned. I think that this article is really reliable because it has good

information and it mentions who published the text. According to the article this was

published by “The association of teachers of advanced composition” (Schneider, 14). This

means that the people who published this text are teachers that had experience with

students and college writing. This article is peer-reviewed because it has a work cited. This

means that having a work cited in an article shows all the websites and places where the

author got the information from which makes the article more reliable. According to the

website “what is peer reviewed?” that I read last week, it stated that a peer reviewed article

should have an abstract (Lloyd Sealy Library). In fact, this article does have an abstract

which means that it is a peer- reviewed article. In this article the abstract talks about the

college writings and the students (Schneider, 1). I can also tell this article is a peer-

reviewed because it is also organized by headings. According to the website that I read last

week it mentioned that a peer-reviewed article is organized by different sections (Lloyd

Sealy Library). This article has a pretty good introduction and thesis. The author’s thesis is

about how some of the students had a hard time doing college writings and some things

these students did. (Schneider 2). Some of the evidence the author uses to support the

thesis is by showing some experiences of real-life situations students have gone through

while writing college papers.

This article was really interesting and informative. I think that the audience for this

article are other students that want to become better at writing college papers because it

gives good advice and it shows how other students also struggled in their college writings. I

also think that the audience for this article is for other college students because most

students also have the same thoughts and are afraid to do a college writing.

As I stated before this article was pretty interesting because it showed the struggles

some students had in their college writings. I think that I feel I can relate with these

students because I felt the same in some ways. In fact, in the heading “Writing Is

Systematic.” I feel I can relate with this student because I also wanted to write a great

college paper with out having any experience (Schneider, 7). I think that in one way, or

another every college student have felt like the students in the article.
