How To Register For NPS Central

Autonomous Government Bodies

The National Pension System Trust or NPS autonomous bodies are a


specialised division of Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority
which is under the Indian Government’s Ministry of Finance’s jurisdiction.
It is our country’s voluntary defined contribution pension system. These
central autonomous bodies are government entities which are substantially
financed from Central Government grants (around 50%). It is a part of the
public service but has other control of its own affairs or is otherwise
independent.

Eligibility For Registration Under NPS Autonomous Bodies?

All model citizens are eligible to apply. That means that the eligible citizens
should not have any criminal case pending against them in a court of law
under the country’s jurisdiction. There are additional requirements also for
an eligible citizen of India, whether resident or non-resident -
 Age between 18 – 60 years of age on the date of submission of his/her
application to the POP.
 Compliance with the Know Your Customer (KYC) norms
 The Central Government had introduced the NPS w.e.f January 1,
2004. Except for armed forces, all Central Government employees
joining on or after 01-01- 2004 are mandatorily covered under NPS. 

Registration Process For NPS kFintech


Opening an NPS account for NPS kFintech can be done online or by visiting
to your nearest Point Of Presence.
 Through POP - Applicants are required to submit duly filled in
Subscriber Registration Form (CSRF) along with supporting KYC
documents to the branch of POP
 Online (through eNPS): Applicants need to visit eNPS website and
register with their Aadhaar or PAN Card details.

FAQs On Nodal Office Registration Of National Pension System


1. How Nodal Offices are identified in CRA system?
A: Nodal Offices possess a unique number that is allotted by CRA on
successful registration of that entity.

2. From where can the Nodal Offices obtain the registration forms?

A: The relevant registration forms can be downloaded from the CRA


website (www.npscra.nsdl.co.in).

3. What are the details to be submitted by the Nodal Offices for


registration in CRA?

A: After providing all the compulsory details required in the registration


form, the form has to be submitted. The application has to be duly signed
by the authorized signatory of the respective Nodal Office.

4. How is PrAO/ DTA registered in the CRA system?

A: PrAO/ DTA shall submit duly filled application(Annexure N1) for


registration. After that a a unique PrAO registration number is allotted.
On successful registration, CRA shall send intimation vide letter to the
PrAO about the details of registration.

5. How is a PAO/CDDO/ DTO registered in the CRA system?

A: The procedure is same as provided in question 4, but the form that


needs to be filled is Annexure N2

6. How is a DDO registered in the CRA system?

A: DDO shall submit the Annexure N3 form to its PAO/CDDO/ DTO.


The procedure of verification and registration is same as provided in
question 4.

7. Can a Nodal Office be registered as a PrAO cum PAO/CDDO cum


DDO as well?

A: Nodal Office can be registered in the following manner (under


specific circumstances) depending upon the architecture adopted by the
office:
 PrAO cum PAO/CDDO
 PAO/CDDO cum DDO
 PrAO cum PAO/CDDO cum DDO

8. How can a DDO access CRA System?

A: The DDOs can login to the CRA system using the details provided to
them and following the instructions provided on the website. Once the
request is authorized by the associated Nodal Office (PAOs/DTOs), the
password gets activated and DDO can use the same to login to CRA
system.

9. What will a Nodal Office do in case it forgets/ loses the I-PIN/T-PIN?

A: Nodal Office can reset the I-PIN online through CRA system by using
any of the two options:

 Reset password using secret question


 Instant Reset I-PIN
10. How can Nodal Offices modify its details registered with CRA?

A: The Nodal Offices shall notify CRA about change in the details
registered with CRA by sending a request on its Office Letter head
containing details of the change which has to be authorized by the
respective PrAO/ DTA.
