 Word meaning - name of mythological handsome boy, SYPHILUS who was cursed by APOLLO
with the disease.
Psora – deficiency
Sycosis – excess
Syphilis – pervers

According to Dr. Hahnemann

 Def – Dr. Hahnemann defines syphilis as a veneral disease.
 Chancre is the local manifestation of syphilis.It appears after an impure coition usually between
7th & 14th days.

MANIFESTATIONS

 Primary – pustule if not cured  impure ulcer  increased with years

 Secondary – Chancre  BUBO develops  secondary symptoms appear.

CURE OF VENERAL DISEASE

States to be distinguished-

1. When syphilis is still alone & attended with its associated local symptoms, chancre ,or at
least if this has been removed by ext application, it still associated with the other local
symptoms which in a similar manner acts vicariously for the internal disorder.

Dr. Hahnemann says,

“There is on earth no chronic miasma, no chronic disease springing from a miasma,

which is more curable & more easily curable than this.”

 Treatment - one little dose of best mercurial remedy within 14 days.

 chancre becomes clean, sore with little pus, and heals itself.
 indicates that every trace of internal syphilis was extinguished at the moment of
completion of cure of chancre.

2 . When it is alone, indeed i.e. without any complication with second or third miasm but has
already been deprived of the vicarious local symptoms, the chancre.
  Treatment – same with the one dose of best mercurial preparation.
In both cases, if they have been rightly treated the cure is a complete one and no
outbreak of the veneral disease need anymore be apprehended.

3. When it is already complicated with another chronic disease i.e. with psora already developed,
while the local symptoms may either be yet present, or may have been removed by local applications.

“when complicated with developed psora, it is impossible to cure the veneral disease alone.”

Masked or Spurious Syphilis

When this venereal disease is treated by means of friction with mercury, large doses of calomel,
corrosive sublimates and acrid mercurial remedies, they assault the venereal patients often for many
months, with the intermediate uses of many weakening warm baths and purgatives so that the internal
slumbering psora is awakened before syphilis can be cured by such injudicious treatment, there arises
through this combination masked or spurious syphilis

 Treatment – Remove all hurtful influences.

 Strengthen his diet
 Give him antipsoric which is best fitting to the then prevailing state of disease
 A 2nd most suitable medicine to the still prominent psora symptoms.
 Dose of mercurial preparation to act against the veneral disease for 3 or 4 or 7
weeks.
 In difficult cases a repetition of similar process of cure is required.

DR.KENT VIEW
If we assume that the syphilitic miasm is a disease that would run for a definite time ,and
suppose that an individual has gone through with the primary manifestation &is told by his physician
that he can safely marry, his wife becomes an invalid, but she does not go through the primary
manifestation, the initial lesion and the roseola but she has the symptoms which belongs to later stage
of disease .

This disease is transferred from husband to wife, and then taken up in the stage in which it
then exists and goes on in a progressive way.she takes from him the stage he has to offer. This is true for
all miasms .eg she may remain in contact with him as wife, and even have a child by him, and that child
be BLACK WITH SYPHILIS, while she has no symptoms of syphilis.

Reason is that the child is from the seed of the father and mother only furnishes the
groundnut.

This is the modern disease &is the basis for many constitutional troubles .It is supposed to be
contracted from impure coition. Much of the susceptibility & lowering of defence towards the specific
poison is developed & maintained because of mental attitude of the individual, in that in its very
inception it is a violation of his standards & reacts upon & lowers the vitality.

Syphilis has its effect upon the protozoan and offspring shows the effect in many ways .

When the offspring is affected with syphilitic taint he will not show the direct effect in the primary
chancre/ulcer for by the time disease has passed into second generation, the fault has become thoroughly
married to the life forces & it becomes a part of his being .This results in many constitutional tendencies

- Deformities - Chronic catarrhal conditions of nose & throat.

- malformations of teeth & bones - ulcers etc

 Treatment – When complicated with psora, anti-psoric simillimum is given.

 Must concentrate on syphilitic dyscrasia
 Anti-syphilitic given.
