Sarah Ragland Reflection Week 13
Sarah Ragland Reflection Week 13
One big question that I still have for the tradition educational style is how to be an innovative
educator and gear lessons towards students’ interests while still following state standards.
My story of being a teacher starts with my parents being teachers; I saw them love their jobs and
put in a lot of hard work outside of school hours.
To accomplish this, I will set healthy boundaries for myself so that I can do the best for my
students.
One way to use technology in the classroom is to allow students to create devotionals; this allows
students to interact with the Word of God and be better equipped to apply it to their own lives.
Digital distraction is a constant worry of educators; one way to combat this worry is to create a
plan to create seamless transitions with technology and to empower students to create a healthy
balance for themselves.
I learned that gamification is a great tool for educators to use to keep students engaged in the
classroom and use higher level thinking to learn about the material.
One thing that I will practice with gamification in my own classroom is not always making my
own games, but using the countless resources that are already out there for free or on
teacherspayteachers.
