Holiday of Ivan Kupala
On the night of July 6-7

The most colorful and interesting holiday, which

ends the summer solar cycle of pre-Christian
calendar holidays - is the holiday of youth - Kupalo,
or Kupailo, which over time, after the adoption of
Christianity, to some extent transformed into a
church holiday.
It is about the birth of John the Baptist, which is
celebrated by the church on July 7, or June 24
according to the old calendar.

On the night of Ivan Kupala, our ancestors went to the forest to collect
medicinal herbs and flowers, which, according to legend, were saturated
with special power during this period. They also believed that on this night
a fern blooms, the flower of which is supposed to give special strength and
opportunities to those who find and break it.
