Travelling by public means of transport can help to reduce pollution and traffic jams in many big

cities in Vietnam. What is your opinion?

The evidence is good that the rocketing rate of car and motorbike ownership has spawned a serious
deterioration in air quality and the daunting prospect of traffic congestion in many big cities in Vietnam.
In light of this, the introduction of public transportation has been said to be a panacea to mitigate the
status quo. In my viewpoint, I completely concur with the aforementioned statement. To begin with, the
widespread use of public transportation will render this planet a greener place to live in. It is evident that
the massive exhaust emissions released from the combustion of fossil fuels have catastrophically
exacerbated air pollution. Hence, the adoption of public means of transport such as bus or train is of
overriding importance in dispensing with private cars, thereby resulting in less energy consumption.
Second of all, riding public means of transport helps counteract traffic congestion. Once car owners opt
for public transport rather than their own vehicles, the previously occupied roads are now freed up,
leaving more spaces for traffic to flow easily. Public transportation, if used to its full capacity, can convey
many more people in much less space than individual automobiles. In conclusion, it is imperative that
public transport should be adopted to address the pressing issues in Vietnam namely air pollution and
traffic jams.

Easy access to so much information on the Internet creates problems, especially for the young. Do
you agree or disagree?

In the technology-driven era, information abound on the internet has made the search for it
appreciably more effortless. Nonetheless, some claim that this will exert inimical effects on youngsters,
which I completely assent to. First and foremost, the easy accessibility of information means the
deprivation of logical thinking, particularly in students. Since modern technology effectuates humans’
dependence on it, they will have the inclination to resort to the internet to tackle a multitude of issues. A
prime example is that a number of today’s students express strong preferences for websites where they
can search for the answers to their school’s assignments. This could potentially be a bar to their
independent thinking in the absence of the Internet. Second of all, adolescents, without enough parental
supervision, could unknowingly or intentionally make access to improper contents. In that Internet is
awash with uncensored ones, it is likely that teenagers will be exposed to them. Unfortunately, the young
are easily predisposed to whatever captivates them on the Internet. By the same token, displays of
violence could instigate aggressive behaviors, while nudity could incite premature interest in the opposite
sex. To recapitulate, easy access so much information available on the Internet is, indeed, pernicious to
juveniles as far as independent thinking and inappropriate contents are concerned.

It is said that television brings both advantages and disadvantages. What do you think about this
statement?

Since its inception, television has gained sizable popularity across the world. While this
ubiquitous object admittedly comes with several merits, they are seemingly eclipsed by the substantial
demerits offered to viewers. The foremost problem lies in the effect that screen time has on us,
particularly our physical activity level. In fact, studies have suggested a strong correlation between TV
watching and a sedentary lifestyle. Arresting movie series, riveting documentaries or recreational videos,
all of which contribute to our reluctance to partake in physical activities. This, indubitably, is the chief
culprit in the escalating rate of obesity, diabetes, heart attack and so forth among people of all ages.
Second of all, binge watching takes up a surfeit of our valuable time. Modern technology is intrinsically
created to help human boost his productivity; however sitting in front of the small screen for hours on end
seems to contradict this ultimate goal. Furthermore, advertisements and repeatedly shown programs
virtually permeate every TV channels which is a huge wastage of time if one sits through them all. In
conclusion, television entails numerous negative implications for its viewers as regards the sedentary
lifestyle and time wastage.
