Report Writing (The Call)

On November 5, 2021 at 1000 hours Officer Sawin and I responded to a dispatch

call to 1040 Maple Street on a domestic violence call. When we arrived at the neighbors

they told us that they heard a lot of cursing and yelling coming from next door. I told the

neighbors to stay where they are and we would come to them if we needed any more

information. Then officer Sawin and I proceeded to go next door where all the noise

was coming from. As we walked in the house we heard constant yelling and screaming

from a man and a woman. The house was a mess and there were things knocked down

everywhere. There was a white male on the ground and he was hurt and there was a

white female trying to protect him from another white male who was yelling at them so

we separated him from the other two.

Once separated I noticed the male on the ground had a wound to the head so I

applied pressure to it and waited until the ambulance came. While waiting I asked him

what happened. He said that the man wasn't his dad and that the reason he pulled a

knife out on him is because he was scared of him because he has a gun. Because of

this knowledge I go to the other room where the yelling man and officer Sawin is in and

ask for the gun to confiscate it. After retrieving the gun I went back to the woman who

asked to go to the hospital with her son. I told her she could go after I got her statement.

Her name is Janet Alice Hall and was born on April 17, 1947. She said that Bob kicked

her son Jay out of the house. So she fed him supper while Bob was at work but he

came home early and was upset that Jay was there. He tried to make him leave but

Janet told him to stay and finish his supper. Bob keeps shoving and pushing Janet back

which led him to slapping her. That’s when Jay got up and got into it with bob. They

went back and forth which led Bob to slap Jay too. Jay pulls out his knife. Because of

this Bob takes a bat from under his couch and hits him with it and then proceeds to kick

Jay in the abdomen. Janet tried to call the police and an ambulance but Bob wouldn't let

her.

After I get her statement officer sawin tells me the statement of Robert Hall. He

said he thinks that Jay is a “junkie” and that Jay stole some things from Janet so he

kicked him out. When Jay showed up for supper Bob said he told him to leave and Jay

“lipped off” to him so he slapped him and that’s when Jay pulled out his knife. Bob then

grabbed his bat and hit him over the head with it. We made sure we also confiscated

the knife Jay used and the bat that Bob used. When we put them together Rebert

started yelling and being aggressive immediately so I arrested him for domestic

violence.
