2018 So Far

With the arrival of my son Nicolas Santiago in September of 2017, my life
changed pretty drastically. First, we left San Miguel de Allende after 7 exciting
and successful years and moved to a house in the beautiful Oaxacan country-
side, where there is ample opportunity for me to paint outdoors. There is a vi-
brant art scene in Oaxaca City, surpassing even that of San Miguel, with several
hundred registered art galleries in downtown alone, but I have not had time
to make many contacts. At the moment, I have an ongoing exhibit in my little
town’s best restaurant, and a pending meeting with a large gallery to represent
my work, but my number one priority has been my family. Thus, I have created a

fair amount of new work, but most of it has not been exhibited.

Since the beginning of the year, I have made some excellent excursions to the
countryside and managed to produce what I consider to be my best landscape
work thus far. I have also worked on other subjects from time to time - namely
San Miguel scenes and animals. In May, I printed all of my linocut work, which
is available at affordable prices in a signed edition of 25.
