To Whom It May Concern:
Itis with pleasure that I recommend Ms. Amy Gair for an elementary teaching position. As a
kindergarten teacher at Berlin, | have had the opportunity to get to know Ms. Gair throughout
her service as a full-time substitute at our school. Not only have | worked alongside her as a
neighboring teacher, but she has served as a long-term substitute in my daughter's classroom
as well. Ms. Gair is experienced, flexible, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work alongside.
Ms. Gair began her time with us at Berlin Brothersvalley serving in first grade as a long-term
substitute at the very beginning of the school year. As her neighbor across the hall, | was
impressed by her confidence during a time of year that is typically difficult for both teachers
and youngsters. She clearly embodied the poise and demeanor of a seasoned, experienced
teacher in action! Ms. Gair has always had a positive attitude and a kind word with colleagues
in passing. In addition, Ms. Gair has demonstrated positive classroom management techniques,
greatly appreciated by all of her hallway neighbors!
Later in the year, Ms. Gair served in a second long-term position, this time in my daughter's
second-grade classroom. As a parent, | reached out to Ms. Gair with some questions early in her
transition to this newest assignment. | found that she was a good listener and clearly
knowledgeable about the second-grade content. She has served the second-grade students
well throughout her time with them, adding some challenging elements to their weekly routine,
2s well as some engaging opportunities for review and practice. Her experience as both a
teacher and a mother of school-age children was evident in her interactions with both the
students and parents.
Ms. Gair has valuable experience as an educator. Her flexibility and knowledge of elementary
content and concepts make her easy to work alongside. My interactions with her as a teacher
and parent have been genuine and agreeable. Her experiences as a mother bring empathy and
a skill set that can’t be taught to the classroom as well. She will most assuredly be an asset to
your district as a full-time elementary teacher. Please contact me if you have further questions
about my experiences with Ms. Gair by phone at (814) 289 — 3418 or by email at

Sincerely,
