Grammar: Unit 10 B - ‘Too’ and ‘Not Enough’ /e-nuf/
INTRO
‘Too’ means ‘as well / also’

-> For example: Maria likes apples. John likes apples too. Marco is from Colombia. Luisa is from Colombia too.

But, ‘TOO’ also means ‘excess’ / an ‘extreme amount’

For example
It was 48 degrees in Melbourne last year. That’s TOO hot.
John ate 8 hamburgers for lunch yesterday. That’s TOO many hamburgers.
Yoko drank 10 bottles of beer last night. That’s TOO much beer for a young girl.

‘Not…enough’ = not sufficient / less than is needed

For example

Marco is on a diet. All he ate was one apple last weekend. That’s not enough food.

Lucy is 1.50 cm tall. She’s not tall enough to be a basketball player.

Kenji is only 16 years old. He’s not old enough to go to the pub.
1 #) ENOUGH

N.b. Adjective + enough /e-nuf/ (e.g. tall enough; old enough; young enough) enough + noun (e.g. enough food; enough money; etc.)
