Activity
1. Start class with a refresher on prefixes. Have students to
name some prefixes that they remember from previous
lessons.
2. Explain to students that they will be split into two
groups in the classroom. Groups will be told to move
their desks to view the white board to participate in the
lesson.
3. The interactive activity is review of prefixes that the
students have been learning on slide 2.
4. The groups will take turns spinning the wheel and
matching the correct prefix to the root word, definition,
etc.
5. If the group gets the answer right on the first, try they
get 100 points. If the group gets the answer wrong, they
lose 25 points until they get the answer right.
6. If both groups tie with the same score, then they will
have a tie breaker to see who the winner is. The
tiebreaker is a matching game on slide 4 that matches
the prefixes and root words.
