Activity 1
Answer the questions below in not less than 5 sentences.
1. How do you give meaning to a so called “history”? Explain.
History is the study and knowledge of the past. It's a historical narrative and a form of
collective memory. History tells the tale of who we are, where we came from, and where
we might be going in the future. More than merely a living chronicle of nations,
presidents, and battles, history is a living document. It's also our own tale. It's full of
stories about people who stood up for what they believed in, died for love, or worked
hard to realize their ambitions. All of those are concepts with which we may relate.

2. How important historical writings are in your life as a student and as a person living
in this country?
Historical writings help in the formation of a more comprehensive understanding of
the world. Without understanding how things work in the world, you can't establish a
framework on which to build your life. Historical writings provide us with a complete
picture of how society, technology, and government functioned in the past so that we can
better comprehend how they function today. Also, support us in developing a sense of
identity. One of the key reasons that history is still taught in schools around the world is
because of this. Historians have been able to learn about the formation of countries,
families, and communities, as well as their evolution and development across time.
