This article is published by a writer name Tejvan Pettinger , who works as

an economics teacher at Oxford University. Also it presented by the

Economicshelp website on june 28th, 2017. Overall, this information focus

most on how the unemployment effect on economy, more specifically, in

the UK. It detailed, the author pinpoint exactly the aspect of drawback of

unemployment on economic field like personal cost, costs to government,

and costs to society.

This information provides a mind map and a bar chart to specify the trend

in UK from 1881 to 2015. From this, we can infer the trend is similar

compared to Vietnam. In addition, the costs of unemployment embody: lost

income, less tax revenue, inefficient use of resources.

First, potential homelessness is due to the loss of income according to the

BBC News and if they do not have money, they can not pay the rent of

house or apartment. As a result, they got kicked out of their home.

Moreover, if they are out of work, they will miss the chance to learn skill

from practical experience. This will lead to the decrease of labour

productivity and the loss of human resources in workplace. Moving to the

next point- the upward of increasing government borrowing is also the

factor influence on the rate of unemployment. Because with the number of

unemployees go up causes  the fall in tax revenue or lower VAT which may

bring the country to bankrupt. Hence, the less jobs, the less GDP for the

economy. All of this proved that the current solution is inefficient and we

have wasted a large money on the unnecessary task.

Like I said before, the author had significantly point out the aspects of

unemployment on economic. This source is good, easy to understand or to

sink in the hidden message about the urgent issue not only in UK but also

the world. However, less example.
