Everyone Is Tweeting About National Bird-Feeding Month

What:
February is National Bird Feeding Month, so the City of Waco Parks and Recreation Department will be
holding a bird watching event you don’t want to miss. Those who participate can take pictures of the birds
they find and upload them to Twitter with #feedthebirds. There wil also be activities such as bird house pant-
ing, food trucks and bird feeding.

Where & when:

The event will be held the weekend of Feb. 26-27. It will be in Cameron Park located at 2601 N. University
Parks Drive, Waco, TX 76708.

Why:
The City of Waco Parks and Recreation Department knows how important local parks are for the community
and the animals. Using local parks is a great way for people to get fresh air, exercise and see nature. Especially
with spring right around the corner we want the parks to be full.

Photo/interview opportunities:
At the event there will be a speaker, Chris Vanskike, the director for Cameron Park Zoo, who will be available
for an interview at noon. Holly Roberts, a birdwatching local of Waco, has also agreed to be interviewed at
3 p.m. after the bird viewing show. There will also be photo opportunities for pictures of birds, families and
children.
