X I took Visual Design (SAR145) which allowed
me to practice and understand the theory
behind designing a variety of online media,
including websites, which has assisted me in
the creation of portfolios and similar projects.
X In almost all of my classes, I have worked with
peers to submit a variety of assignments and I
have learned how to better discuss ideas with
people who are different from myself.
X I have learned how to use databases to obtain
reliable, peer-reviewed, sources for research
projects, while being able to communicate an
understanding of these sources through
Microsoft and Google tools.
X I took Policy and Program (SCJ405) in which I
was assigned to propose a solution to an
existing policy in the criminal justice system,
in which I discussed the reformation of the
sexual offender registry.
X In Personality Theory (SPY370) we wrote a
paper on how the personality of a fictional
character leads to certain behaviors. I was able
to successfully explain this character’s
behavior in relation to the classwork while
discussing a fictitious place.
X In Senior Seminar (SLA400) we were able to
take our knowledge of things that need
improved and our values of what is important
to us to assist students in need.
X I took Introduction to French which gave me
an understanding of the basics of French,
however, with no previous understanding of
the language it was hard for me to pick up. To
improve upon a second language, I plan to
learn Japanese after graduation as I want to
travel there.
X In Christian Scriptures (SRT210) we looked at
the history of the New Testament, and how the
geography and culture of the time shaped

a variety of disciplinary perspectives

Christianity, and how the religion impacted the
world.
X In Faith, Religion, and Society (SLA105) we
analyzed the history of Christianity, Judaism,
and Islam and the interactions these religions
have had with one another and how it has
impacted the world in the past, and how it still
does in the present.
X In Gender Issues in the Workplace (SBU270)
we looked at the privilege certain people have
in the workplace while others are oppressed in
the past and present through culture, race,
class, and gender issues.
X In Research and Application of Psychology
(SPY402) we used Qualtrics, a survey tool, to
generate and collect data, and then used SPSS,
a statistical software, to analyze the data to
then support our original hypotheses.
X In History of Western Art (SAR105) we
looked at historical art to understand the
culture and history of a certain place and time
period.
X In Special Topics: Sexual Offenders in the CJS
(SCJ250) we created an infographic providing
information on how sex trafficking effects
people in the modern world.
X In Social Psychology (SPY215) we chose a
topic in social psychology and used
information from class to evaluate and apply
the information to write a research paper using
multiple reliable and peer-reviewed sources.
X In Introductory Statistics (SSS250) we learned
to understand and interpret quantitative
information to assist in research to support our
arguments.
X In Research Methods we learned about ethical
rules in psychology and how to apply these
rules in the real world. We looked at the
history and philosophical inquiry behind these
ethical rules.
X In Introduction to Philosophy (SPL100) we
applied CST to philosophical issues that affect
people in the present.

X In Faith, Religion, and Society (SLA105) we
analyzed the different religions in the world
and how they view the world by understanding
their histories and traditions.
X In Senior Seminar we were able to practice
charity and justice by developing a project to
donate items to students on campus who are in
need of them.
X In Connections we volunteered at an animal
shelter allowing us to have the opportunity of
being an involved member of society and we
decided where to volunteer based on our
values and ethics.
