Pressure Test
Compucheck® Fitting, Part No. 3824842

Remove the plug from the inlet and the outlet side of the fuel
filter head.
Install 10-mm Compucheck® fittings and a pressure gauge
that has a range of at least 0 to 20 psi.

Run the engine at high-idle speed. Fuel supply pressure

should read as follows:
Outlet side of the filter equals 69-kPa [10-psi] minimum
Pressure drop across the fuel filter equals 34-kPa [5-psi]
maximum.

If the fuel pressure is below the minimum at the outlet side of

the filter, the fuel filter may be plugged, or the fuel lift pump is
possibly not operating properly. Refer to Procedures 006-015
(/qs3/pubsys2/xml/en/procedures/53/53-006-015.html) and
Procedures 005-045 (/qs3/pubsys2/xml/en/procedures/53/53-
005-045.html).
If the maximum fuel pressure drop across the fuel filter is
greater than 34-kPa [5-psi], replace the fuel filter. Refer to
Procedures 005-008 (/qs3/pubsys2/xml/en/procedures/53/53-
005-008.html).
