I. Summary of the Documentary

Early in 2020, the world began to face one tragic and life-threatening virus, the
COVID-19. Everyone's lives went upside-down; people were in a panic, some businesses
continued to boom while most business establishments and organizations had experience
recession. The pandemic showed us how unstable and unrealistic e-commerce is. Pre-
pandemic, shipping goods has been very hard and consumes a lot of time. Now that the world
faces this pandemic, shipping goods from one continent to another has become even more
time-consuming and costs a lot more.

To keep some businesses running even with the scarcity of workforce, business
owners cope by increasing the workers' labor. Sometimes business owners go out of their
way to keep the business running. It's never been the same since then; proper handling of the
company's operation is crucial to ensure that compensation given to workers is adequate
while the business still gains profit. When the workforce declines, productivity and efficiency
of work and services also decline.

Even with the rise in the demand for goods and services, businesses will still struggle
for quite some time to respond and provide the supply needed in the market. The supply
chain will never be the same since every link was greatly affected. Businesses must start to
look at the whole process in a more detailed manner, locate which area needs more attention,
and which among the links in the supply chain needs recalibration for it to work smoothly
again.

II. Statement of the Problem

One of the problem mentioned in the documentary regarding Strategic Management

is the environment. Employee turnover as mentioned in the documentary is a sustainability
problem. During the pandemic, it highlighted the fact that the links in the supply chain truly
vulnerable to disruption and that intermittent shortages affects the accessibility of the end
products to consumers.
III. Collaborating Viewpoints

“Collaboration in Supply Chain Management: A Resilience Perspective Discussion

Paper”

Collaboration among supply chain partners is essential for improving the chain's
performance and efficiency. Competitiveness. The relationship between supply chain
collaboration and resilience hasn't been well investigated. Nonetheless, the benefits of
teamwork in terms of resilience are clearly apparent. Defining the scope of the project. The
importance of a framework for explaining the drivers of collaboration is critical. Members in
supply chains must be able to trust one another in order to collaborate. This is one of the
options. The most difficult obstacles to overcome, and this is frequently related to disparities
in negotiating power. Members with weaker negotiating clout. People in positions of more
authority are less likely to be trusted. The win-win scenario must be shown by the
participants. The "focal" firm in a supply chain is typically referred to as a member having
more negotiating power. Collaboration cannot be the only way to improve supply chain
resilience during or after a disruption. Between members of the direct supply chain The
importance of including government agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
in the supply chain. It is clear that not everything can be done by members of the direct
supply chain.

IV. Contradicting Viewpoints

“Conflicting Goal and its Impact on Level of Supply Chain Integration between Supply
Chain Partners in the Automotive Industry - From Manufacturing SME’s Perspective”

SME's can benefit from supply chain integration since it helps them enhance their
operational performance. However, most extant supply chain integration theories are based
on the viewpoint of the LEs. As a result, the focus of this thesis was on the amount of supply
chain integration from production. From the standpoint of a small business. Despite this,
supply chain integration is difficult owing to competing objectives. Which occurs between
partners in the supply chain The level of supply is estimated based on past knowledge.
Conflicting goals amongst supply chain stakeholders have an impact on chain integration.
This, I feel, is due to how the competing goals were handled.According to the findings of this
research, the degree of supply chain integration, which There is a low/medium level of
interaction between a manufacturing SME and its consumer. In addition, the desire for
delivery and volume, which exists between these parties, is a contradictory aim. Flexibility,
storage flexibility, a high demand for quality, and a relatively high production cost are all
factors to consider both upstream and downstream complexity. Finally, the outcome of this
thesis demonstrates how the opposing goals have been managed has an impact on supply
chain integration.

V. Local Application

Global Chain Problem can affect the Philippines and the province of Negros in the
following situations; the Philippines suffered from the surge of the COVID-19 virus. This
unfortunate event in our country was the shortage of workforce. Due to this shortage and
economic obstacle, the production workforce declined substantially. This tragic event in our
economic pattern will, in turn, affect the mass production of goods that cater to the needs of
consumers. In the province of Negros, Global Chain Problem significantly affects the
livelihood of our dear sugarcane farmers. Due to changing demands of consumers and the
fact that logistics and manufacturing systems are affected, harvest and production also suffer.

VI. Personal Insights and Learning

Before the pandemic, most of us, if not all, are already suffering from the changing
tides in economic activity. Prices of goods and commodities are surging due to increasing
fuel prices. Logistics came in handy, but there are also delays from time to time. People are
losing jobs because businesses also need to retrench. Our economy was already suffering
way before the pandemic happened.
The challenge continues now that we are in the middle of the pandemic. More people
are losing jobs, while others are just starting to get back on their feet once again. Others
cannot leave a job no matter how draining it gets because if you do not have a job, you don't
also have any means for a living. From the business owner's point of view, one must know
how to set a SMART goal.

Every link in the Supply Chain must work cohesively to attain the necessary goals
and demands in society. All of us should also collaborate to work to better our environment
and the world where we are living. Lastly, after going through this pandemic, some
businesses should know better. Impulsive decision-making should not have any place in
planning business goals and objectives.

VII. Conclusion and Recommendation

For environment problem under Strategic Management, I recommend the following;

For all waste kinds, a zero waste to landfill policy is in place. Implementation of a set of
environmental KPIs to track, report, and manage environmental performance across several
locations. Monitoring and reviewing critical parameters such as energy consumption, carbon
emissions, waste output, water usage, and environmental compliance status on a monthly
basis. Development of a digital application that is examined by an environmental
representative assigned to each site. Unipart Way tools and procedures are used by teams to
discover improvements in our environmental performance.

In the case of employee turnover these are the following things a business can do to
prevent it from happening; If you detect a problem with one or more positions, strive to
resolve or avoid the issue. It is occasionally feasible to restructure a job by adding more
appealing responsibilities and reassigning less appealing ones. If you're concerned that you're
not paying enough, find out what other companies are paying for similar jobs. If you feel that
individuals are departing because other jobs offer them better opportunities for advancement,
you may tell future workers that the position has limited development potential so they know
what to anticipate, or you can look for methods to broaden the role's duties.
In the case of intermittent shortages in the supply chain, businesses can exercise price
pressure on consumers to minimize there buying behavior. They can also set a limit as to
how many pieces per item will be available for sale per customer.
