Code of Ethics for Practice Teaching Students

This code of ethics is for students who will practice teaching in their field of specialization. They are
expected to act with integrity, honesty, fairness and dignity in their dealings with pupils, parents, peers,
mentors and school officials.

1. A practice teaching student should keep all information about the pupil, class and school confidential.

2. A practice teaching student should be concerned with the pupil’s progress in learning rather than
impressions.

3. A practice teaching student respects the dignity and rights of all.

4. A practice teaching student should be courteous in demonstrating knowledge and maintain a learning
environment that is responsive to the needs of the learning community.

5. A practice teaching student should be committed to the development of the learning community.

6. A practice teaching student value and respect the reputation and professional abilities of their peers.

7. A practice teaching student should always adhere to the governing school regulations of practice
teaching.

8. A practice teaching student should acknowledge that their relationship with the learning community
is based on trust and confidence.

9. A practice teaching student should be completely impartial in dealing with their pupils.

10. A practice teaching student should always be the best living example for their pupils.
