SIBUGAYNON FISHERFOLK BENEFIT FROM LIVELIHOOD IMPLEMENT DISTRIBUTION

UNDER BAYANIHAN ACT I

In congruence with the intent of RA 11464 or the “Bayanihan to Recover as One Act”
enacted for the recuperation of the local economy and in order to help the fishery sector to
re-emerge from the devastation brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, the DA-BFAR IX
through the Fisheries Post-Harvest and Marketing Division headed by its Chief, Mr. Marlon
B. Dagandan and assisted by Ms. Merza Ismael-Rasad, Section Chief with Ms. Puraida M.
Abbdulah, Technical Staff, in collaboration with the Provincial Fisheries Officer Ms. Lolita A.
Toribio of Zamboanga Sibugay Province, distributed twelve (12) Sets of Post-Harvest
Utensils and Equipment under CY-2021 target and Bayanihan I in Zamboanga Sibugay on
_________________.

The said utensils (consisting of _____________________) were turned over to Fisherfolk


Associations in the municipalities of Titay, Naga, Mabuhay, Talusan, Olutanga, Alicia, Payao,
Imelda, Malangas and Buug while an additional two (2) sets of Post-harvest processing
utensils were also given to beneficiaries from Ipil and Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay. (why
separate Ipil and Naga?)

A techno-demonstration workshop on value-added products, such as fishball, fish tempura,


fish kikiam, fish siomai and fish crackers, was also conducted at the Municipal Conference
Hall, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay attended by thirteen (13) fisherfolk participants from Ipil
and the Municipality of Naga (utilizing the utensils awarded to them?).
