Title of the Laboratory Exercise:

Creating tables in Microsoft Access application

1. Introduction and Purpose of Experiment


Microsoft Access (MS Access) is a powerful tool to create databases. In this laboratory
exercise, students get familiar with the creation of table and addling data to the created
table.

Objectives

At the end of this lab, the student will be able to:

• Create and design tables in Microsoft Access application • Add data

to the created table

3. Experimental Procedure
Students are expected to create and design tables in Microsoft Access application.
Students are expected to define primary key for the created table and add data of 10
records to the created table.

4. Write up on Steps Followed

The steps which are followed to create Student Table are as followed:

 Open Access
 A blank database will be displayed on the desktop
 Then click on Fields, and go to view
 Then save the folder name as Student and click OK
 A new window will be displayed, which consists of rows, columns
 Such as, Field name, Data Type and Description (no optional)
 Then fill-up the data of fieldnames using which is required such as Student
ID, DOB, ADDRESS, PHONE NO, COURSE ETC
 Then close the student window
 And save the table

Results and Outcomes

Microsoft Access is an application that enables a user to create databases without coding (according
to Microsoft’s advertising). It usually comes to a user as a part of the Microsoft Office suite that also
includes programs like Word, Excel, and Outlook. From the above activity we learnt about the
creation of tables, edit records and modify the appearance of your table to make it easier to view
and work with.
