Hello!

My name is Sarah Crissman and I am Mrs. Plummer’s student teacher. I am

a senior at Kutztown University majoring in Elementary Education. I cannot
believe it is already the end of March! This school year is flying by! I have
been working with your child since January and I wanted to give you an update
on how the school year has been going! I first want to mention that your
student is a delight to have in class. All of Mrs. Plummer’s students are very
hardworking and are making my experience as a student-teacher an enjoyable
one. I have loved getting to know your student and the little attributes that
make them so special

Highlights in the Classroom:

I am pleased to tell you that we just recently wrapped up our Solids and
Liquids unit in science. This was the student’s first exposure to science this
school year. During the unit, the students explored the world around them and
saw how different liquids and solids changed properties. I enjoyed every
minute of teaching this unit. I am sure if you ask your child about a solid or
liquid, they will have a lot to tell you!

In Mrs. Plummer’s classroom, I have various roles and responsibilities. One

of these roles is working with students in small groups. In math, the students
work with me to add tens and ones. The students are learning to use a tape
diagram and solve word problems. In reading, I am working with students to
be word detectives and think about their book beyond the text. I have
enjoyed working one on one with all of the students and seeing their
progression in each of these subjects.

I am sad to say that my time in Mrs. Plummer’s classroom is coming to an

end. My last day will be Thursday, May 12th. This has truly been such a
rewarding experience. I will miss all of the students deeply and I look forward
to taking what I have learned into my own classroom someday. In the
meantime, if any of your children participate in any sports or extra-curriculars
please feel free to send in a printed schedule of their games/activities in their
Bulldog folder. I know many of the students are involved in activities outside
of the classroom and I would love the opportunity to see them.

Best,

Sarah Crissman
