After I graduate, I will do doing residency at my current site for about 3 years afterwards.

During that time, my goal would be to learn as many new skills as possible and get lots of
consultations from my supervisor to help me grow. After residency, I will either continue working
there as a therapist or I will apply to alternate places. If I leave there, my goal would be to get
accepted at a university and work there as a mental health therapist. I realized I enjoy working
with young adults and children. I will work at the university for a few years to gain lots of
experience, and if I am comfortable, my next goal would be to own my own private practice. At
my private practice, I was thinking I would specialize in marriage and family therapy, children
and adolescents, and possibly career counseling. After learning a lot about these groups in
courses, I realized that I would probably enjoy career counseling since I like helping people plan
their future. I also realized that marriage family therapy is a very interesting field that I enjoy,
and after working adolescents and children at my site, I realized that is the group that I enjoy the
most. I would also love to be a supervisor to interns when I own my own private practice
because I would love helping people become a counselor like me. I mostly like the idea of
helping others become successful.
