New Transitional Home for Single Mothers

Agape’s Embrace and Christ Church of the Valley Team Up to Prepare
House and Meet Neighbors
Phoenix, Oct. 6, 2021 – Agape’s Embrace (www.agapesembrace.org), a faith-based,
transitional housing nonprofit, is partnering with Christ Church of the Valley to prepare a new
home for single mothers and their families facing homelessness. The service day will take place
on Nov. 20 at Agape’s newly purchased transitional housing in North Phoenix. Volunteers from
the church will undertake painting and gardening projects throughout the property to cultivate
welcoming and functional spaces for the families. They will also introduce the mission of
Agape’s Embrace to the surrounding neighborhood by passing out snacks to the locals. The
house is projected to open for move-in before the summer of 2022.

“We are excited to bring new life to the Agape house, as we prepare the house to become a
sanctuary for the families we will serve as well as a safe place within our community for others
to experience the love of Jesus,” said Mary Menchaca, the Executive Director of Agape’s
Embrace. “We would like to thank our friends from Christ Church of the Valley for their
amazing encouragement, talents, support and love!”

Agape’s Embrace is a recently established nonprofit organization with a vision of building a

network of support for the single mothers they serve. Agape purchased the new house in March
of 2020, which will host up to three families for the 12-18 months-long program. Volunteers
participating in the service day will paint the trim, a cinder block wall, and decorative murals, as
well as create a prayer garden for the mothers and a sensory (play) garden for the kids.
