LISTENING UINIT 1+2

Unit 1:

Teacher: All right, 4B, quiet please. Martin, I said “quiet”. Right, everyone. I've got some
information about this year’s camping trip. Remember, Class 3A is also going this year. Last
year, we went to Spain, but this year it’s France. The trip cost 250 pounds last year but this year
it's 50 pounds cheaper. The trip is four nights, sorry, five nights. Last year only 30 students could
go, but this time we have space for ten more. You can do lots of things at the campsite. You can
play volleyball, tennis, hockey. But you can't play video games. You can also learn new skills.
Every year we have an Awards Night. You can win awards for different skills you learn at the
campsite. We have awards for cooking, storytelling, climbing and hiking, but not for swimming
or football. If you're interested, please fill in the forms on your desks. I need them by 9am next
Monday. Not 10am on Tuesday, Martin. I also need a letter from your parents. No emails, please.

Unit 2:

Boy: Did you have a good time at the zoo, Martha?

Girl: Yes, we really enjoyed it. My brother loves the monkeys.

Boy: They're very funny animals. What about your sister?

Girl: Well, she hated the snakes! We spent a long time watching the penguins, because they
were her favorite animal.

Boy: And did your dad have a good day?

Girl: Yes, he really enjoyed looking at the lions, but he didn't like the elephants very much.

Boy: That's interesting. What about you and your mum?

Girl: Oh, I liked the dolphins best, Mum did too. So we went to look at them again after the
penguins.

Boy: What animal did your granddad prefer?

Girl: The bears. He saw a wild one in Canada when he was young.
Boy: Really? And what about your grandma?

Girl: She quite liked the snakes. But for her, the wild dogs were the most interesting. She even
bought a book about them in the shop.

Boy: Sounds fun.
