REQUIREMENTS:
Meets all state standards for early childhood teacher.
Available to work 5 days per week M-F from 8:00 am-4:00 pm
CPR, First Aid, Universal Precautions certifications currently updated
Strong work history and good references
Experience in an early childhood classroom
Montessori experience a plus
Professional appearance and attitude
College degree preferred but not required
Clean criminal record
Able to lift and turn carrying at least 60 lbs. and sit on a tile floor for at least 60 mins.
DUTIES:
Assist lead teacher in implementing the Montessori pedagogical approach in the classroom
Organize and implement art and craft projects for the children under the guidance of the lead
Manage daily transitions with the children setting firm limits and using loving guidance
Take direction from the lead teacher and follow through with it positively
Model kindness, responsibility, and peaceful interactions for the children
Refer all significant parent questions and concerns to the lead teacher
Perform daily classroom maintenance duties such as snack preparation and disinfecting
Pursue continuing education opportunities – specifically learning more about Montessori
Attend all staff meetings and teacher work days
