Summary of the Artifact:

The artifact that I feel best represents Standard 8: Instructional Strategies is a math
resource website I created for parents and their children. This website focuses on the
four math content areas (Numbers and Operations, Algebraic Concepts, Geometry, and
Measurement/Data.) For each content area, I included book examples and math
activities that students could try at their house. The website is unique in that it provides
alternative activities to help students improve their math. For example, students could
read a geometry book on shapes to improve their geometry skills and their literacy skills
too.

Reflection:

I believe learning is more meaningful for students when it is something the students are
interested in. This website considers my student's interests. My hope is that after having
my students use this resource they will see how we can learn new things every day
even when we least expect it. In my future classroom, I would choose one activity from
the website each week to do with the students at school. Then the students could try it
at their homes.
