. You are looking for a roommate. You initiate the conversation.
- Greet the other student (your possible roommate).
- Ask him/her name.

- Ask your partner
at least 4 questions
about his/her daily routine to figure out if
you two are compatible. Ex: ¿A qué hora te levantas? ¿En cuánto tiempo te arreglas?
- Make appropriate comments based on his/her answers. Ex: ¡Te levantas muy
temprano! / No me interesas. Te acuestas muy tarde.
- Based on his/her answers, tell him/her that he/she can or cannot be your future
roommate.

2. El arreglo personal

Estudiante A
. You are a sales person interested in promoting a new line of personal
care products. You initiate the conversation.
- You need to pitch the sale for four products to the other student. You will need to
include the following:
- name the product
- explain what the product is for (activity that you do with it)
- include the price
- make a comment indicating that it would be a good purchase (compra)
During your presentation, answer the questions of the other student about the
products, and convince him/her to buy at least one. You can use obligation verbs
(deber, tener que, necesitar).
Estudiante B
. You are a client. The other student is interested in promoting a new
line of personal care products to you. He/she will pitch a sale for four products.
During his/her presentation, ask him/her questions about their quality and price.
Try to get a discount (descuento).

- Ask your customer whether he/she would like to have a dessert.
- Wait until your customer ask you for the bill.

You are at the library with a friend of yours. He/she starts a conversation
about interests and likes.
- Answer your friend’s question.
- Answer or comment on your friend’s question.
- Ask your friend a question based on what he/she loves to do at the university.
- Answer your friend’s question about what classes you find interesting.
- Answer your friend’s question about what bothers you on campus.
- Answer any comment or question that your friend may have about your previous
response.
- When your friend excuses himself to leave, tell him/her that it is fine. Tell him/her you
will be seeing him/her tomorrow.
