No. : TEPAT SERNEK, PROCEDURE i 8 SDN BHD e Tene) Page 1203 1.0 PURPOSE 1.1 This procedure describes the weld repair method applied by Tepat Teknik Sdn Bhd for fabxication of Air Receiver for Synergistic Generation Sdn Bhd. 2.0 SCOPE 2.1 This procedure covers the welding repair of Air Recelver designed and Fabricated to ‘ASME VIII Div. 1. 3,0 REFERENCE DOCUMENT 3.1. Contract and Client Specification 3.1.1. WA 3.2. Applicable Code and Standard 3.2.1 ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1 Pressure Vessels (Edition 2010) 3.2.2 ASME Section V + Non-Destructive Examination 4.0 PROCEDURE 4.1 The location and extent of defect detected by visual or non-destructive test shall be marked on the weld 4.2. The defect shall be removed elther by grinding or gouging depending on thelr suitability. Any gouged area shall be made smooth by orinding. 4.3 Grinding and gauging shall extend beyond the extremities of the defect. 4.4 Non-destructive test shall be carried out to ensure that no defects remain. 45 If no further defect is detected in the repair area, the area shall then be thoroughly leaned by means of wire brushing, 4.6 The welding procedure used for the repair shall be the same as the original welding Procedure, IF the original welding process and repair welding process {s different, a repair welding procedure shall be qualified to simulate these two processes and approved by CLIENT. 4.7 Pre-heating and interpass temperatures for the repair works shall be as shown in the criginal welding procedure or in accordance with 4.5 above. 4.8 Only qualified welders shall be used for the repair works. 4 mMuc Subject : Doc. The repaired weld shall be inspected by the same NOT Procedure used on the original ‘weld but RT or UT and PT or MPI shall be the minimum NDT procedure allowed.
