Dear Governor Dewine

I do not believe it is a good idea to ban the talk of sexual orientation and gender identity

in grade schools in Ohio. The “don’t say gay” bill that flordia passed shows how students will

protest that bill. I think as long as you're not pushing LGBTQ+ on anyone then it should be fine

to talk about. It is good for kids to at least hear about the community so they are not confused

when they grow up. The protests from the Florida bill are almost all from students so it is clear

they are not the ones who care to hear about Sexual orientation. It is not fair for others to make a

bill when they are not in the school environment. The biggest flaw in this bill is that teachers

will not be able to talk about the history that has to deal with this topic. It will affect their

teaching and the education students will get. It is not fair to take away some parts of learning just

because some parents and people higher up say it is bad.

It is especially not fair to students who turn to teachers for counseling and help when they can

not talk about things at home. Imagine not even being able to freely talk about things you need

help with or are scared to talk about to others. Teachers build strong bonds with students and that

could greatly affect their mental state in school if you could not express how you feel. Governor

Dewine I really hope you will take this into consideration and will look more into this topic and

how this bill could worsen the school system.
