Essay 1 Reflection Questions

From English 1301 to 1302 I learned how to provide credible and useful information and

being able to format it correctly into my essays to give a good understanding to the reader, also

how to structure essays so that the information connects through the essay and is a very fluid and

easy to understand essay that does not leave the reader guessing. From my ROTC class I learned

to not give to many what we call “filler words” which means to not drag out your paragraphs

with pointless information and only stick to the things you have to say in a clear perspective and

nothing else.

In English 1301 to 1302 we switched to more essays that had to do with ourselves, and

instead of not being able to use words such as “I” or “You” we can now which makes the essays

for this semester more personal, and we can delve more into our own thoughts and beliefs

instead of only looking at the ideas and beliefs of others.

I learned on how to find reliable ana accurate information that pertains to my subject in

this first essay and while it was a challenge the practice of how to create a bibliography and

properly give the correct information.

There was nothing in this essay that will not help me with any other class as everything

we learned and was taught in this essay can help in any scenario.

It helps us by seeing and understanding how professional research is done and we can

study different kinds of not only the research that is presented but the researcher themselves to
see if they have styles or ideas we agree with and can model on. It helps by giving different

viewpoints and ideas of others so we can weigh them against our own and see what we believe

works better in our own case or even what flaws we have in our work.

Due to problems occurring in this essay I did not receive any comments for this essay.

The most challenging aspect of this essay was translating the information from the

sources into a credible and understandable way for this essay. I had no problem finding

information but there was so much of it that sometimes it was hard to know which was the best

information as well as how to shorten to highlight the key points. The least challenging part was

how I mentioned before, was the available amount of information on my topic as it is a very

well-known and talked about problem that has plagued mankind for centuries.
