Etiquette for synchronous classes both for students and teachers
MELINDA PARRO-PAN, PhD
College of Development Education 2
1. Ensure your gadgets
work properly. Laptop or phone, earphones, range of battery 3
2. Check your internet
connectivity. 4
3. Wear appropriate dress.
You’ll never know the time you will be seen in the frame. 5
4. Frame the camera correctly.
Not too far, not too close, JUST right. Also, a well-lit face is more engaging. 6
5. Look into the camera directly
when you are talking. This is to avoid distraction. 7
6. Be on time. Your presence matters before the start of the lesson. 8
7. Be sure that you mute youself
when you are not talking and unmute if you will speak. 9
8. Turn phone on silent mode.
Answering calls are highly discouraged while in virtual class. Let’s show respect with one another. 10
9. Should you need to leave (bathroom
break) please leave a message in our message box. 11
10. Pay attention all throughout the class.
If you want to say something (ask a question, comment, share additional information, etc.) during the virtual class, just raise your hand but please wait to be acknowledged or called before you unmute yourself. 12
