grow up they must understand their health should always be a priority. Within
my article, it provides a survey constructed to determine the factors affecting
mothers’ behavioral intention for promoting the oral health of their children
aged six months to one year within the framework of the HBM.
The survey contained two different sections and was answered by two
hundred randomly selected mothers in the city of Ilam, Iran. The first section
consisted of questions checking the participants’ demographic and contextual
information. The second section examined the constructs of the HBM,
including perceived severity, perceived benefits, behavior, perceived
self-efficacy, and cues to action. In conclusion, these questions were scored on
a Likert scale from 1 (totally disagree) to 5 (totally agree).

Part 2 - Summary (to be done next week)

● How does the book or article fit into your potential research? What does it add to your
paper or ideas?
● Was the source helpful to you? Does the source relate to your potential topic?
● How and where can you use this source in your potential research project?
● Make as many notes as you can so that you can come back to the source much later in the
process without having to reread the document in its entirety.
Answer all the bullet points in a well written paragraph or two below:
The article of my choice fits into my potential research because I want to discuss the
important role oral hygiene has in our lives. Children from the age of six months to one year can
already start to practice having good oral hygiene, and their parents (mothers) could start
promoting oral health in children who are in their early childhood stages. This article adds an
idea to my paper as I would like to discuss more in-depth the effects of having good oral hygiene
can have on a person. Although, not only will I discuss the good effects, but the effects of having
bad oral hygiene on a person as well. Also having bad oral hygiene can lead to many things later
on in life. In addition to this, my source was very helpful to me. It relates to my research topic,
and I will use this to go more into depth about oral hygiene and all the positive and negative
effects it can have if it isn't or is being practiced. With that being said, I will also discuss how
many mothers promote oral health to children in their early childhood stages, and why they
choose to promote it or not.
