What are the objectives of creation of district industries


centres, its functions, activities conducted by it and different
schemes provided by it.

District industry centre


1.this industry centre falls under directorate of industry and commerce it offers a loan
facility for young professionals and the major purpose is to promote tiny cottage and
village industry, small scale industries in small towns.
2 the basic purpose is to solve all their basic needs services and facilities, it has
another objective of generating employment in rural region this centres are operated
at the District level specifically for first time entrepreneur.

Functions:
1. Arrangements of credit facility machinery and equipment.
2. Development and expansion of industrial cluster.
3. Identification of suitable schemes.
4. Recognizing and financially supporting new entrepreneurs.
Schemes provided by DIC are:

1.PRIME MINISTER EMPLOYMENT GURANTEE PROGRAM:


A centrally sponsored scheme under the ministry of micro, small, and
Medium enterprise (MSME) was launched in 2008. The PMEGP aims
To generate employment opportunities for educated unemployment
Citizens in rural and urban areas.

2. DISTRICT INDUSTRIES CENTER LOAN SCHEME:


This scheme is for self-employed as well as the small unit sector in towns
And rural areas with population less than Rs.1 lakhs and capital investment
Being less than Rs 2 lakhs.
2.What are the different objectives and functions of the Small
Industries Service Institute (SISI).

At the heart of all agencies dealing with development of small


industry is small industries development organization, SIDO. It was
originally know as central small industries organization (CSIO).
Attached to the ministry, SIDO administers small industries service
institute (SISI’s).
The small industries service institutes (SISI’s) are set-up one in
each state to provide consultancy and training to small and
prospective entrepreneurs. The activities of SISs are co-ordinate by
the industrial management training division of the DC, SSI office
(New Delhi). In all there are 28 SISI’s and 30 Branch SISI’s set up
in state capitals and other places all over the country.
FUNCTIONS
1. To assist existing and prospective entrepreneurs through
technical and managerial counseling such as help in selecting the
appropriate machinery and equipment, adoption of recognized
standards of testing, quality performance etc;

2. Conducting EDPs all over the country;

3. To advise the Central and State governments on policy matters


relating to small industry development;

4. To assist in testing of raw materials and products of SSIs, their


inspection and quality control.
3. Discuss the main objectives and function of National
Institute of Entrepreneurship & Small Business
Development (NIESBUD).
NIESBUD is an apex body for co-ordinating and overseeing the activities of various
institutions and agencies engaged in entrepreneurship development particularly in
the area of small scale industry.

The main objectives of the institute are:

1. To accelerate the process of entrepreneurship development throughout the


country and among all segments of the society.
2. To help institutions/agencies in carrying out activities relating to
entrepreneurship development.
3. To evolve standardised process of selection, training support and sustenance
to potential entrepreneurs enabling them to set up and run their enterprises
successfully.
4. To provide information support to trainers, promoters and entrepreneurs by
organising documentation and research work relevant to entrepreneurship
development
5. To provide functional forums for integration and exchange of experiences
helpful for policy formulation and modification at various levels.

Functions

The main functions of the Institute are as follows:

(i)                Evolving effective training, strategy and methodology.

(ii)           Standardising model syllabus for training for various groups.

(iii)           Developing training aids, manuals and other tools.

(iv)             Supporting 9ther agencies engaged in entrepreneurship development.

(v)           Conducting such programmes for promoters, trainers and entrepreneurs


which are commonly not undertaken by other agencies

(vi)        Organising all those activities that help develop entrepreneurial culture in the
country.

(vii)      Publishing literature for furtherance of entrepreneurship and small business


development.

 
4. What is the role of the National Entrepreneurship
Development Board (NEDB) in assisting entrepreneurship.
Objectives:
The main objective of the National Entrepreneurship Development Board (NEDB)
is promotion of entrepreneurship for encouraging self-employment in small scale
industries and small business.
Salient Features:
The scheme covers the following activities:-
  (i)  To identify and remove entry barriers for potential
entrepreneurs (first generation and new entrepreneurs) including study on
entrepreneurship development.
(ii) To focus on existing entrepreneurs in micro, tiny and small sector and identify
and remove constraints to survivals, growth and continuously improve
performance.
(iii) To facilitate the consolidation, growth and diversification of existing
entrepreneurial venture in all possible ways.
(iv) To support skill up gradation and renewal of learning processes
among practicing entrepreneurs and managers of micro, tiny, small and medium
enterprises.
(v)To support agencies in the area of entrepreneurship about the
current requirement of growth.
(vi) To act as catalyst to institutionalize entrepreneurship development by
supporting and strengthening state level institutions for entrepreneurship
development as most entrepreneurship related activities take place at the
grass root level and removing various constraints to their effective
functioning.(
(vii) Setting up of incubators by entrepreneurship development institutions and
other organizations devoted to the promotion of entrepreneurship
development
