I ask that you please consider my application and qualifications for the Elementary Music Teacher position at
C.C. Lee Elementary School. Aberdeen has had a long tradition of success in their music departments. I feel
confident that through my experiences studying at Northern State University, I can become an asset to your
school and its music department.

Music has always been one of the main passions of my life. A position like this requires someone like me who
can hone their communication and creativity skills. My past work experience and skills make me a qualified
applicant. Being the Head Instructor at the Faulkton Area Out of School Program, I have created and
implemented differentiated lesson plans tiered to a variety of grade levels and students. My hard work,
perseverance and tenacity will show in the ways that I encourage my students and attempt to drive their
ambitions. Most importantly, my goal as a music educator is to be an open-minded and adaptive educator who
develops musicians, life-long appreciators of music, and kind and compassionate stewards of good citizenship.

Currently, I am completing a Bachelor of Music Education degree in Vocal and Instrumental Music Education
at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. During my coursework, I have taken many different
courses learning different music methods and teaching the voice effectively, such as Elementary Music
Methods and Vocal Pedagogy courses. I have also been an active member of all NSU’s choral ensembles and
the opera program. Through my student teaching experiences at Northern, I have had the amazing opportunity
to observe multiple different music programs within the Aberdeen School District, furthering my interest in
this teaching field.
