I.

Introduction: Hello, my name is Sydney Daeschler and I'm receiving my bachelor of science degree
in Public Relations and minor in Sociology here at Illinois State University. I'm a senior and am
expecting to graduate in May of 2022. I am a PRSSA member here at Illinois State and had an
internship for State Farm this past summer. I am excited to share some of the qualities I possess
with you that I believe put me above other candidates applying for this position.

II.Body

A. Strengths:
a. Strengths I find myself the best at are my communication with others, my dedication to
my work, and the strong relationships I hold with my peers.
B. I excel when it comes to communicating with others. I like to explain, to describe, to host, to
speak in public, and to write. I have experience with communication from prior jobs. When
doing any job, it's important to be confident with speaking and to be prepared so you can try to
reach your outcome as best as you can. I love creating useful conversations with people.
C. I feel that my dedication to my work is always a top priority to me. I describe myself as having
a constant need for achievement and I feel that every day starts at zero. I like to go above and
beyond in a work setting to achieve my end goal.
D. My relationships with my peers are also very strong. I keep tight bonds with people I meet and
always try to learn more about them. I feel the more relationships I have, the more
connections I will receive in the future. Creating a relationship with different people opens
new doors to opportunities.

III.Areas for Growth:

a. I feel that since I tend to have strong relationships with peers, I find it helpful when working in
groups with other people. Working as a team is helpful due to the fact you can hear everyone's
ideas and apply them to a common end goal.
b. Since I tend to focus on relationships with people so much and like working in groups, I
sometimes find it hard to work alone. I feel that I need to put myself in uncomfortable
situations that are out of my comfort zone such as working alone to help me grow in this area.
