1.1  Meaning, scope and development of Anthropology.

• Straight question mostly for 10 or 15 marks.
• Prepare answer with side headings like – Introduction – Anthropology
definition by different thinkers (Malinowski etc.)- Branches of anthropology –
different approaches- how anthropology helps us- conclusion
• Just try to present anthropology holistically

General suggestions
• Anthropology is a humanities subject. So while presenting answer mix it
with case studies, bullet points, paragraphs, some flow charts, some diagrams,
conclusions.
• Maintain proper structure. You should impress the examiner. Since it is
humanities visibility might also play an important role.
• Some tips for improving marks
• Start with small introduction or definition for the question. Small 2-3
lines should do.
