Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the
learners should be able to;
- Explain four gospels with one
true meaning.
- Strive to respond to the
challenge of the good news of
Jesus Christ.
- Pray for the Holy Spirit for
guidance to live life according
to the Gospel.
Introduction:
The gospels are our principal source for the
life and teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This gives them special place among all the
inspired writings. It is also have different
interpretation but expressing one message.
With the help of our Gospel Writer’s which
also known as the Evangelists we have the
proof or the truth that God really exist and
written the important events how God
journey in this world.

Definition of Terms:
Gospel Writer’s – also
known as the Evangelist
The one who writes the
important events of
Jesus’ journey in our
world.
 The Four St. Matthew- the tax collector
Evangelist: has the largest people. He wrote for
the Christians converted from
Judaism in Palestine. In his Gospel
he presented Jesus as the
Servant-Messiah Emmanuel.
St. Mark – the companion of
Peter and Paul in their missionary
activities wrote the shortest
gospel. He wrote for the
persecuted non-Jewish Christians,
thus, Jesus as the Suffering
Messiah is the image of Jesus that
he presents.
St. Luke- an educated
man and a physician by
profession. He belonged to
Greek family in Antioch.
Since he had for his
audience Greek converts,
he presents salvation as
universal.
St. John – the beloved
disciple. He is the son of
Zebedee, the brother of
James. He presents Jesus as
the revealer of the Father
and emphasizes Jesus
Divinity.
